Police have arrested a group of children after the release of a video last week showing a brutal February beating that left a woman unconscious in Center City.

Six boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 14 were taken into custody Thursday, and police said that an additional suspect has also been taken into custody. Detectives continue to look for the eighth and final suspect.

A 33-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and severely beaten at around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 15th and Chestnut streets, authorities said. She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital with injuries to her head, face and body.

Video of the attack was distributed by police on Tuesday, March 7, in an attempt to gather tips about the suspects.

Authorities said those arrested in connection with the incident have been charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, robbery, theft and related charges. Law enforcement typically does not identify juvenile suspects.
