An Overbrook teenager is in critical condition after an overnight shooting in which a gunman allegedly lit a chair on fire to lure the victim to his front door before shooting him.
Around midnight near the corner of 56thStreet and Lebanon Avenue, a 19-year-old went outside after seeing a burning chair on his porch when he was met by a gunman, CBS3 reported.

“There was a plastic lawn chair that was on fire on the front porch. When the 19-year-old victim exited the front door to investigate, that’s when he was confronted,” Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBS3.
The victim attempted to shut the front door, but the shooter fired three shots through the door, striking the teen in his chest and torso, Fox 29 reported.
The victim was taken to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, NBC10 stated.
The victim’s roommates said to police that they recognized the gunman from a previous incident, Fox 29 added. They claimed he lived nearby and was driving a silver Mercedes.
