Halloween is sweeter than ever at Candytopia

What better place to spend Halloween weekend than Candytopia?

As a costume-clad day filled with sweets, the hit traveling showcase located inside the Philadelphia Fashion District is aiming to be the go-to destination in the city for Halloween 2021.

Candytopia comes from ‘Hollywood Candy Queen’ and CEO of The Hollywood Candy Girls INC Jackie Sorkin, master fabricator and CEO of ZH Productions Zac Hartog, and brought to life by life-long retailer expert, John Goodman. It opened in the Fashion District in the City of Brotherly Love in the fall of 2019 and reopened this year following the pandemic. Candytopia Philadelphia specifically features the most popular attractions from its past locations including a marshmallow pit filled with over 250,000 foam marshmallows; an underwater-themed wonderland with fantastical candy-covered sea creatures; a rainbow-filled room with flying unicorn pigs and confetti explosions (now orange and black for the holiday), along with many more sweet surprises.

For Halloween specifically, Candytopia will be throwing their “Sweets and Treats” event days happening now until this Sunday, Oct. 31. 

As the release states, guests and candy-lovers will find not-so-spooky surprises throughout the giant 20,000 square foot space at 901 Market Street. The idea for the holiday enhancements was to add fun, playful and Halloween-inspired decor and vibes to the space that would complement the dozen colorful environments and the 50+ pieces of original art made from candy.

For Halloween, visitors can look for old-school classics and fall flavors from your childhood, including caramel apple taffy and caramel apple lollipops. Candytopians sporting cauldrons will have special Halloween chocolates brought in just for this special experience and other candy throughout Candytopia will include a mix of sours, gummies, chocolate treats, nostalgic favorites, and more. For vibes and decor, there will be a candy scarecrow to greet visitors, a smoking cauldron in the clock shop, an eight-foot-tall giant inflatable marshmallow man next to the Marshmallow Pool, corn stalks made with candy-corn corn cobs, and spider webs, light changes, hay bales, candy pumpkins, real pumpkins and other seasonal decor scattered throughout the space. 

Now through Sunday, visitors will find a special Halloween background at the free Sugar Rush photo stations on top of all of the new attractions. Sugar Rush takes photos in select spots of Candytopia, and then sends them to your email within seconds, so your visit can remain as timeless as it is sweet. Visitors are invited to wear safe and family-friendly costumes during the Sweets and Treats days as well, in true Halloween fashion. Some of the staff will also be  wearing their own favorite costumes to join the holiday fun.

For a touch of Philly, visitors during Candytopia Halloween: Sweets and Treats will have full access to the candy-covered replicas of the Liberty Bell, tribute to Rocky, a candy portrait of Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, a sugary ode to Campbell’s Soup in Camden, and much more.  

As the release states, Candytopia: Halloween Sweets and Treats is included in the regular price of admission, for $28 for adults, $20 for kids 4 to 12 years old, and free for kids 3 and under. Masks are required for all visitors. Tickets include access to all exhibits and a trip to the Marshmallow Pool, a visit to the secret Candytopia gift shop, and all that free candy.
