“Donkeys Around Town,” the 57 fiberglass donkeys painted to represent all states and territories that will welcome delegates to the Democratic National Convention, were unveiled Thursday.
The donkeys will be displayed at 48 different public locations through September.
“Keep an eye out for them beginning July 1st!” said former Pennsylvania Governor and Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee Chair Ed Rendell.
“Thank you to all of the artists who went above and beyond to rearrange work schedules, who sacrificed family time, and who squeezed long days of painting in!” said Caryn Kunkle, of ArtJawn, which helped coordinate the resources and data for this project. “These donkeys are available to take home! Support local Philadelphia artists by bidding on your hometown donkey.”
