Help end childhood hunger at Taste of the Nation 2016

One in five kids struggles with hunger in Pennsylvania, according to No Kid Hungry, an organization whose mission is to end childhood hunger in America. On Monday, Oct. 17, over 40 of Philadelphia’s best chefs, brewers and mixologists will participate in the annual Taste of the Nation event to benefit No Kid Hungry. Taking place at 23rd Street Armory, last year’s dinner provided 400,000 healthy meals to kids.

Participants this year include: Alla Spina, Amada, Bistro La Minette, La Peg, Bolete, Mr. Lee’s Noodles, Capogiro, Cheu Noodle Bar, La Colombe, Yards Brewery, Whetstone Tavern, Pizzeria Stella and more.

Chef Chair Lee Chizmar of Bolete says: “Being in the food industry, especially in higher end dining, I think it is our duty to remind people that we are so blessed to have access to good, healthy food. I think it is easy to take it for granted.”

He continues, “Chefs have the platform to reach the public and inspire our community to do the same and make sure we remember that there are so many families that aren’t in the same position. That’s why I support No Kid Hungry.”
