The Philly POPS are back to spread holiday cheer with a merry sing-along, this year led by David Charles Abell. Soprano Angela Brown, the guest vocal soloist, will be belting out holiday favorites including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Sleigh Ride.” Other featured appearances include the POPS Festival Chorus, the Philadelphia Boys Choir and the African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas Gospel Choir. If you can’t make any of the four shows this weekend, the two final shows of the season will take place next weekend.

The Raven Society aims to get those in their 20s and 30s involved in the library — and what better way to do that than with beer? Come celebrate “The Year of the Bard: Shakespeare at 450,” a holiday party complete with Shakesbeer from Yards Brewing Company and small bites from DiBruno Bros. and Zahav. Commonwealth Classic Theatre Company will perform scenes from “Twelfth Night.”

It’s time to raid your closet and find the ugliest Christmas sweater around. Don the worst for a chance to win a City Tap House employee discount: 50 percent off alcohol and 30 percent off food for a year. Guest judges —WMMR’s Marisa Magnatta, Daily News columnist Reuben “Big Rube” Harley, Dr. Mike from “Good Day Philadelphia” and others — will pick the winner/loser. There will be an open bar, appetizers, music and raffle prizes. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia and Lymphona Society of Eastern Pennsylvania.
