How to spend Labor Day Weekend in Philadelphia

Here’s where to say farewell tolong, lazy days this Labor Day weekend.

Drink:

On Friday night, we’ll be drowning our sorrows over the end of beer garden season at the last installments of the Visit Philly Beer Garden Series, making its way to Spruce Street Harbor Park and RiverRink Summerfest. On your way, stop by the PHS pop-up beer garden at 15th and South. Head back to Summerfest Saturday and Sunday for the Labor Day Weekend Picnic with music, $3 beers for the grownups and face painting for the kids.

Dance:

Made in America is taking over the Parkway for two jam-packed days of music. Beyonce headlines the first day; The Weeknd is the big draw Sunday. In between, Death Cab for Cutie, Earl Sweatshirt, Meek Mill, Modest Mouse and many more take over five separate stages.

Continue to dance:

The annual Rad-B-Q party, hosted by the Making Time crew (Dave P. & Sammy Slice, Mike Z. & Dave Pak, Rocktits!, Greg D., and the Broadzilla DJs), is at Bamboo Bar (927 N. Delaware Ave.) on Sunday. The added bonus — in addition to Bamboo’s fishbowls of liquor, of course — will be a performance from Empress Of.

Eat:

Shake Shack is keeping summer going for as long as possible with Labor Day specials on corn dogs and frozen custard. The Shack corn dog with sweet corn relish is only $4.50, or dip your spoon into a peach pie concrete for $4.25 (or $6.75 if you’re on a very romantic date and want to share). They’ll be available all weekend.
