The Philadelphia Eagles have become a turnstile in the front office in the best possible way. Late Tuesday night, it was reported that Eagles VP of Football Operations, Catherine Raiche, is expected to take a front-office role within the Cleveland Browns organization.
The report comes after other front office executives, Brandon Brown and Ian Cunningham both left for promotions within other organizations this past offseason. There have also been reports that VP of Player Personnel, Andy Weidl has been a finalist for the Pittsburgh Steelers GM job.
Raiche was entering her fourth season with the Eagles before leaving after having previously served as a football operations/player personnel coordinator in 2019. With this expected to be a similar “assistant GM” position, it would make Raiche the highest-ranking female executive in the NFL.
The Eagles are no strangers to having front office turnover over the last few years. Since 2018, both Andrew Berry, and Joe Douglas took GM jobs with other teams. While it is a clear sign that the Eagles have some of the best and brightest minds in the game, the seemingly revolving door within prominent front office positions is something to watch over the next few years.
All the same, the Browns are expected to make the move with Raiche official next week as she joins a former colleague, and spreads the roots of the Eagles front office around the league.
