For over 30 years, InnovAge PACE, or the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, known in Pennsylvania as LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) – has provided reliable, comprehensive healthcare and support services to seniors through a personalized approach including everything from in-home care and medication management to transportation to and from all medical appointments and physical therapy. It’s an added bonus that such care is delivered at no cost to seniors with Medicare and Medicaid coverage.

Antoinette is an enrolled senior at InnovAge’s LIFE center on Henry Avenue in Philadelphia, one of the four area InnovAge LIFE centers including its Allegheny, St. Bart’s, and Pennypack locations.
She gets that InnovAge is “hands on,” with an astute team for every aspect of her healthcare. “You need someone with eyes, ears, and an interest to see what’s happening with you as you age,” says Antonette. “They make my appointments. They take me to and from my appointments. I get door to door service,” says Antoniette. “My medications come right to my door. We can come to the center and get breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They have people helping you with your diet and physical activity. If I have a problem with my rollator (staff) have come to my home to fix it. They handle everything… InnovAge takes care of me.”
Edward, yet another participant at InnovAge’s Henry Avenue center in Philly’s East Falls area discusses the ease, flexibility, and friendliness of the varied staffs on hand serving each and every of his needs. “I can come in and talk to different people whenever I like,” he said. “You meet a whole lot of different people. With InnovAge, I don’t have to worry about my meds. I don’t have to worry about my doctor’s appointments. I don’t have to worry about getting rides to medical appointments… It’s just better.”
There are a handful of requirements for the PACE program including being 55 years and older, living in the service area of an InnovAge LIFE center, and being eligible for nursing home care. With over 20 percent of the citizenry of the United States at age 55 and older according to the U.S. Census , being “just better” is a great step up when it comes to eldercare. With September being National PACE Month: InnovAge LIFE is looking forward to turning on more even seniors to that fact.
