Detectives located the car believed to be involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 16-year-old bicyclist Friday in the Far Northeast, police said Sunday.
No arrests have been made, and the vehicle, which was found at Brous and Princeton avenues in Mayfair, had been reported stolen prior to the crash, according to authorities.
William McWilliams, of Somerton, was struck at around 4:15 a.m. Friday while riding at the intersection of Woodhaven and Byberry roads, police said. He died a short time later at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital.
Less than 24 hours later, at around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, a 50-year-old man was killed by a fleeing driver on the 6400 block of N. 8th Street in East Oak Lane, authorities said. Police have not provided a description of the vehicle.
Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact the PPD’s Crash Investigation Division at 215-685-3180 or call or text 215-686-8477.
