Everyone likes hot dogs, and everyone likes doughnuts.
But what if we told you that you could get a hot dog….. on a doughnut.
The Wilmington Blue Rocks have partnered with Krispy Kreme Donuts to blow the mind of your inner Homer Simpson.
“We’ve been working on a specialty food items for a couple of years now,” Blue Rocks General Manager Chris Kemple said Wednesday. “We never had anything that worked.”
One hot dog, on a specially-made bun and topped with raspberry jam and bacon will run you $7. It comes with a bag of chips.
The buns aren’t normal doughnuts. They’ll be specially made at a Krispy Kreme store in New Castle, Delaware, about five miles away from the Frawley Stadium.
The only place to get this concoction will be at the ballpark, Kemple said.
The team is running a contest to name the donut dogs. Winner gets first pitch on opening night on April 16, four tickets and $50 to be used in the stadium.
