Iverson gets bobblehead, thanks Philadelphia again

Iverson was back in town this past weekend for bobblehead night.

Allen Iverson was back at the Wells Fargo Center this past weekend.

The iconic Sixer was honored Saturday night when his former team hosted the Charlotte Bobcats. All fans in attendance received an Allen Iverson bobblehead figurine. Iverson, as expected, thanked his adopted city for everything.

“I am from Virginia but everybody thinks I am from Philly because Philly is me and Philly is always going to be me because it is in my heart. That is who I am,” Iverson told CSNPhilly.com.

The Sixers welcomed Iverson back with open arms, too. They showed a video tribute on the big screen and most of the crowd stayed in their seats to enjoy it. Iverson had been trying to make a comeback, but no teams have been interested.

“If I get a chance to play again I would love the opportunity, but if not I will continue to just be happy,” he said.

The Sixers even pulled off a win for Iverson by beating the Bobcats, 100-92. They get the Bobcats again Wednesday night in Charlotte.
