Kevin Kolb might be the only one who can shut down DeSean Jackson. Or at least that’s the way it looks on the stat sheet.
Kolb has been unable to get the Eagles’ star playmaker involved in the offense since taking over for an injured Michael Vick. Jackson has been targeted nine times in the past two weeks, catching just four balls for 37 yards. After Sunday’s win, Kolb blamed the 49ers’ defense.
“DeSean is a spectacular player, so obviously, he gets a little bit of attention and they are doing certain things to disrupt his rhythm — and we’ll find ways to get him the ball,” Kolb said.
Jackson credited the quarterback for handling a tough situation well.
“I think we were able to do some things that we liked — and then again we did some things that we didn’t like, so we just have to go back to the film and just watch it and get on the same page,” Jackson said.
Jackson isn’t stirring the pot right now, but sooner or later he’s bound to get frustrated. With Vick under center, he has 14 receptions for 324 yards.
