And …
Sorry, there is nothing new to report on the mysterious illness surrounding Jeremy Maclin. He still isn’t here, in Philadelphia or at Lehigh. He’s in St. Louis undergoing more tests with his foster father, who also happens to be a doctor.
No one knows when he is coming back, not even Eagles coach Andy Reid.
“No we don’t [know], and that’s why they are doing these things,” Reid said. “I encouraged it. I just want to make sure he is feeling right and okay. I know he can play football. That part I know. The important thing right now is for him to take care of business there.”
However, Reid insisted that Maclin will be ready for the season opener. Asked how he could possibly know that without having a diagnosis handy, Reid said, “I guess I’m optimistic.”
If any of his teammates know anything, they aren’t saying either.
“It’s really not my place to comment,” Brent Celek said. “I’m not a doctor. I’m not any of that stuff. I’ve been talking to him the past week and he just wants to get back out there.”
