Jeremy Maclin doesn’t have a life-threatening illness, as previously speculated.
However, the Eagles receiver is still 7-10 days away from practicing, according to team athletic trainer Rick Burkholder. He has been cleared to run and lift.
The doctors still are unclear what exactly caused the mysterious illness — which Maclin pointed out is not leukemia, cancer, AIDS or mono — but the Eagles are hopeful he’ll be out there Week 1.
His teammates immediately took to Twitter Wednesday night.
“It’s great to hear that exciting news. The whole time we were just believing and praying for him,” wrote Mike Vick.
“It’s a blessing … We’re glad to have him back on the team, but we’re happiest about his health,” wrote Jason Avant.
“He’s one of my best friends on the team. I’m happy he’s on board and doing fine,” wrote LeSean McCoy.
