South Jersey teacher Adam Mayr, 37, has been charged with invasion of privacy and endangering the welfare of a child, according to prosecutors.
Mayr is accused of creating “images of private areas of students at the Gloucester County Institute of College,” prosecutors say. No further details about the nature of Mayr’s alleged misconduct was reported, but all the acts occurred in the school, prosecutors said.
According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the activities of Mayr, an English teacher Gloucester County Institute of College (GCIT), came to the attention of the school on March 12.
Mayr, of Washington Township, was arrested March 13 and is currently in Salem County jail. His bail was set at $300,000.
Authorities are now working with the school to find all students whose privacy may have been violated by Mayr.
People with information about students who may have been affected by Mayr are being asked to contact the Gloucester County Major Crimes Unit at 856-384-5500.
