The Jets have looked sluggish over the opening two weeks of the season, but a late rally against the Titans at least flashed what could still be possible over the coming weeks. Rodgers is yet to surpass the 200-yard mark this season, but the Patriots possess the 2nd-best run defense in the league through the opening two games. If he’s forced to throw the ball more as a result, we might finally see a more ‘Rodgers-like’ game from the future Hall of Famer.
I think there is some value on this prop after a wobbly start to the year, and with the Jets needing to work the ball through the air tonight, it’s a bet worth taking.
Douglas drew 3 targets in the Pats’ win over Cincy but 0 against the Seahawks in week 2. He remains one of New England’s most explosive receivers despite the offenses teething problems and flashed his upside on plenty of occasions last year. The Jets’ defense has been vulnerable through the air and this might be the perfect spot to get him rolling, with many forecasting a breakout coming into the new campaign.
One man still yet to find the endzone this season is Garrett Wilson. The Jets wideout has put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with disappointing QB play and finally has an arm he can trust in Aaron Rodgers. While the volume in targets is there, the Jets haven’t been able to feed him his opening TD of the season. That could change today given a likely focus on passing the ball.
Believe it or not, Wilson hasn’t actually scored a TD against the Pats in 4 career outings! That could change on Thursday night.
The veteran wideout appears to have surpassed Allen Lazard on the New York depth chart and could draw a fair amount of targets as a result. Williams might have only caught a single pass for 19 yards in week 2, but it could be a sign of things to come. Again, playing on the ‘passing’ meta here and sprinkling in a few different low-risk options for this SGP!
