Jim’s Steaks loses co-owner, now robbed

Less than a week after the death of one of Jim’s Steak’s owners, William Proetto, more tragedy struck the restaurant yesterday evening. While leaving the building around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, a manager turned down Leithgow Street, only to be knocked down by an unidentified assailant.

Although unarmed, the assailant was able to make off with the store’s proceeds of the day, around $30,000. Luckily the manager was not injured, but with Proetto’s memorial this Wednesday, it has not been a good week for Jim’s Steaks.

No suspects have been identified yet and Metro is hoping to talk with the detective handling the case later this afternoon.
