One of Philadelphia’s most iconic cheesesteak spots is celebrating a decade of serving up steaks in Fishtown. On Tuesday, April 1st, Joe’s Steaks + Soda Shop will celebrate its tenth anniversary, sitting on the corner of Girard and Frankford Ave. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Joe’s will be serving up all-day specials, giveaways, and a sweet birthday treat in honor of the occasion.

To celebrate 10 years in Fishtown, Joe’s is offering their tried-and-true delicious steaks for just $10 all day. As a bit of a sweetener to the celebration, Joe’s is also releasing a limited-edition Birthday Cake Milkshake, blended with vanilla ice cream, cake bites, and icing, then topped with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles.

Fans can also get in on the festivities with social media giveaways, featuring prizes like gift cards and exclusive Joe’s Steaks + Soda Shop merch—just follow along on Instagram for a chance to win.

Founded by Samuel Sherman in 1949, Joe’s has been a staple of the Philly cheesesteak scene for three-quarters of a century. The legendary 76-year-old recipe has lasted through the ages, continuously proving to be among Philly’s best, serving Philadelphians between their original and since-closed Wissinoming location, and now at the celebrated Fishtown location.

Owner Joe Groh has worked their since he was a teenager, cutting meat and peeling onions, and he kept the best of the mom-and-pop shop after he purchased it in 1999. Making their steaks to order using high-quality ribeye steak sliced in-house and a recipe that hasn’t changed since the early days. Served with your choice of American, provolone or Wiz, and served “wit” or “witout” onions, these cheesesteaks are a true taste of Philly. And don’t forget to ask about the pickle/pepper bar.
