Just kickin’ it, with Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson is reportedly dead broke. In fact, he’s blown through about $150 million in salary alone.

Iverson is so broke that a Georgia judge commandeered his bank account last month, according to TMZ. Iverson failed to pay a local jeweler on a $375,000 bill and now owes almost $860,000.

The former Sixers guard has been rumored to have an offer to play basketball in Puerto Rico and/or in the NBA’s D-League, if he could use it as a showcase for NBA teams.

Then, there’s this offer, from the Rochester Lancers. The Lancers are a pro indoor soccer club in something called the MISL, the top level of pro indoor soccer.

The Lancers are offering Iverson a spot on their club for the team’s two remaining games this season, at a rate of $20,000 per contest. Iverson would receive a $5,000 bonus for each goal scored and the release states that there are over 12 goals scored per game on average.

“Allen Iverson is one of the premier athletes of our time,” said Rich Randall, Vice President of the Rochester Lancers. “With his athleticism and competitive hunger, I think he can be a great fit with our team and fans as we make an important playoff push, while also driving interest to an exciting, growing sport.”

Just in case you’re wondering, an average salary in the NBA’s D-League is around $25,000 for the season, plus room and board. The Puerto Rican league shells out $20,000 per month.

Iverson’s people have yet to comment on the situation. We’re just wondering if any of these offers have any built-in clauses regarding practice …
