Katika Festival returns to uCity Square, celebrates Black-owned businesses, culture, community

The Katika Festival is back in Philadelphia for its second year, bringing a vibrant, family-friendly celebration to uCity Square. The free event, set to draw more than 600 attendees, highlights Black-owned businesses and fosters community through food, music, and shared experiences.

On Saturday, July 12, more than 50 local food trucks and retail vendors will set up shop, offering everything from handcrafted goods to culinary delights. The festival will also feature a full slate of entertainment, including live gospel, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop performances, as well as a DJ battle featuring three DJs from across the tri-state area.

Additional highlights include a magic show for children, a Double Dutch jump rope competition hosted by Philly Girls Jump, and on-site voter registration.
