Kensington warehouse destroyed by early-morning blaze

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a massive fire at a Kensington beverage company early Wednesday.

The blaze at Hua Fang Beverage Co. on B Street and Indiana Avenue was called in around 12:50 a.m., officials said. Firefighters arrived on the scene in two minutes and put the fire under control just after 2 o’clock, according to Executive Chief Richard Davison. At one point, the flames were so fierce the call went to three alarms.

Davison said fortunately no one was inside the building and no injuries to firefighters were reported.

The one-story commercial building was destroyed, but the damage did not spread to any other properties.
