Philadelphia was an exciting place to be earlier this year when Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston were in town filming “Untouchable,” a remake of the 2011 French film “The Intouchables.”
But according to Philly.com, it now seems that the film, slated to be released on March 9 in 2018, has a new name — “The Upside.”
The plot explores the relationship between a New York City billionaire who becomes paralyzed after a hang-gliding accident, Phillip Lacasse (played by Cranston) and Dell, a man recently released from prison in search of work (played by Hart).
The film also stars Nicole Kidman, Julianna Margulies and Aja Naomi King with Neil Burger directing.
According to Deadline, The French film on which it’s based, “The Intouchables,” grossed $400 million worldwide and is the “second-highest-grossing-non-English-language” film of all time.
It’s a pretty big deal and so cool that Philly played a part in its production. Are you excited to see it? What do you think of the name change?
