On the field, the Eagles might be looking to the future. However, players will be clad in kelly green throwbacks to start the season.
The Eagles announced yesterday they’ll be wearing jerseys from the 1960 championship season — the franchise’s last NFL title — when they take the field Sept. 12 in the opener against the Green Bay Packers.
It’s part of a seasonlong celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1960 championship team.
“I was so glad that the Green Bay game was the first one here, because we were always going to do it for the Green Bay game,” said owner Jeffrey Lurie. “To kick off the whole season with kelly green, that was a big plus.”
