Heading to the beach for some Labor Day weekend events? We’ve got the scoop on how to finish off your summer strong down the shore.

South Jersey Tiki

If you’re headed down to Wildwood or Cape May, groups can consider checking out South Jersey Tiki, a BYO food and drink cruise with three vessels currently in its fleet. Boat options span space for up to 6, 12 and 18 passengers, and all boats are equipped with speakers, coolers, onboard bathrooms, and captains overseeing the rides. The largest boat also houses a wrap-around bar and additional crew.

With dockings out of both Wildwood and Cape May, there are a few different experiences that visitors can opt for to customize their cruise, including bar hopping charters on the water, trips to a sandbar called “Champagne Island” and swimming off their Big Kahuna Tiki Boat. Reservations can be made online or over the phone at 267-772-2107.

Harry’s and The Montreal

Those who head to Cape May and are looking for a seaside escape this weekend can head to Harry’s and The Montreal. Harry’s, located directly next to The Montreal, is known to hold the beachside area’s only rooftop deck for dining and drinking, with fare from executive chef, Matthew Calvert.

Calvert, who is from Cape May, has put his own spin on Harry’s typical local seafood and signature sandwiches with an emphasis on “freshness and flavor.” Menu highlights include a shrimp scampi flatbread, summer peach and pistachio salad, a lobster roll, a Captain’s stew, Reese’s peanut butter cheesecake and more. Beach service is also available, and you can order from the menu to have your order delivered from the kitchen to the beach.

Those who are Crush fans will also be in luck with a dozen choices on the menu spanning the “famous” orange, Creamsicle, grapefruit, Key Lime, half & half, strawberry, mango, peach, watermelon, lemon and pomegranate.

The Hook

The Hook is a new concept by Spiegelworld, an entertainment company founded by innovative entrepreneur Ross Mollison. Currently, the group has successful shows in Las Vegas (like OPM, Absinthe and the Atomic Saloon Show) but The Hook is their first show in Atlantic City. The Hook’s centerpiece is its show, which is described as a comedy burlesque made for adults set in a 450-seat theater.

The Hook will also incorporate dining into its experience, but there are a few ways to go down that path. While watching the show, visitors can indulge in a craft cocktail or order pizza from the venue’s restaurant, Superfrico. Or, you can opt to dine at the restaurant for a full sit-down meal.

The venue also has two other stops: The Horse Dive Bar and Cheval de Plongée. The former is a boutique bar serving up beers and craft cocktails in the lobby and the latter is a breezy new boîte located on the Atlantic City Boardwalk next to the establishment’s main entrance. Both the Horse and Cheval are available to stop by whether you want to attend the show or not. Tickets and reservations for any of the venue’s iteration can be found online.

The Asbury

Asbury Park has positioned itself as a shore-side destination full of beachfront, lively boardwalk activities, global cuisine, a thriving art scene, and non-stop events, entertainment, and nightlife options. Asbury also offers visitors opportunities to step into history with the 1920s Paramount Theatre and The Silverball Museum stocked full of video games, arcade games and pinball machines on view, some dating back to the 1930s.

One way to experience everything that this beach-side destination has to offer is by staying at The Asbury. The hotel also gives patrons access to Asbury Lanes aka the fan-favorite concert venue, historic landmark, and vintage bowling alley that offers weekly entertainment, and the Asbury Lanes Diner. The venue also has a pool stocked with a bar, and a rooftop venue with some of the best views in town called Salvation—all you have to do is book your stay.
