A woman was killed and at least 10 other people were injured in separate shootings over the Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia.
Police said the female victim was discovered with a gunshot wound to her neck at around 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the backyard of a property on the 2500 block of N. Front Street in Kensington.
No arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the slaying, and officials provided no details about a possible motive. Authorities have not identified the victim. A PPD spokesperson said Monday that no further information was available.
On Monday, just after 3 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was shot in the leg on the 6500 block of Hegerman Street in Tacony, police said. He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to law enforcement.
A 17-year-old boy was shot just after 1:15 a.m. Monday when bullets were fired through the front living room window of a house on the 1500 block of Adams Avenue in Frankford, investigators said.
The victim was inside playing video games with friends at the time of the shooting, according to police. Officers took him to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with a wound to his back, the PPD added.
A bullet grazed a 14-year-old boy in the face just before 11 p.m. Sunday on the 5600 block of Summerdale Avenue in the Summerdale section of Northeast Philadelphia, detectives said. He was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Investigators said he was walking with three other teenagers when someone opened fire from the rear passenger’s seat of a light-colored sedan.
In Olney, a 49-year-old man was shot in his left side and left arm at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night at a deli on the 5200 block of Rising Sun Avenue, police said. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.
On Sunday morning, at 8:30 a.m., shots were fired on the 4300 block of Tyson Avenue in Mayfair, striking an adult man, authorities said. He showed up at Nazareth Hospital and is expected to survive.
A 41-year-old woman arrived at Temple Hospital at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday after she had been shot in the neck on the 4600 block of N. 5th Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood, according to law enforcement. Her injuries are not life-threatening, the PPD said.
In Germantown, someone shot a 42-year-old man at around 11:15 p.m. Saturday on the 5700 block of Wayne Avenue, police said. He was taken to Einstein Medical Center with wounds to his abdomen and hip, but there was no word on his condition.
Earlier, at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a 45-year-old man was shot during a robbery on the 700 block of N. Front Street in Northern Liberties, according to the PPD.
Authorities said the gunman approached the victim and demanded his chains. After snatching the jewelry, he allegedly shot the man in the leg and demanded money. The robber also took the victim’s iPhone, police added.
The PPD said he was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.
An attempted robbery resulted in a shooting at around 11:30 p.m. Friday on the 2000 block of Margaret Street in Frankford, investigators said.
The suspect pointed a gun at a 33-year-old man and demanded his belongings, police added. A struggle ensured, and the man was shot multiple times. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and is expected to survive, according to the PPD.
Officials said a 22-year-old man was also shot at around 11:30 p.m. Friday on the 500 block of Hart Lane in Kensington. He was hospitalized in stable condition with a wound to his lower left leg, according to authorities.

PPD data shows that 150 people have been killed in Philadelphia this year, down 18% from the same date in 2024. The number of shooting victims has also dropped about 10%.
