Join us today for a talk with Maureen May, a registered nurse and the President of Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals. PASNAP has close to 9,000 members across the state, and represents mostly nurses, but also many other groups, such as respiratory therapists, dieticians, paramedics, and so on. Maureen got involved in organized labor in the late 1990s, after the hospital she worked at in New Jersey was restructured so that unlicensed personnel were working at the bedside capacity. She also shares with us the goals she would like to see achieved: safe staffing, workplace violence legislation, and Medicare for all.
