A new program led by beer expert Don Russell, popularly known as Joe Sixpack, allows Pennsylvania lawyers to receive media relations training and earn Continuing Legal Education credits while drinking brews.
Continuing Lager Education, which is approved by the State Supreme Court’s Board on Continuing Legal Education, combines panel lectures with beer tastings.
“Philly is known for two things: its savvy lawyers and its great beer. It’s about time we brought the two together,” Russell said in a press release.
The Continuing Lager Education panel, which focuses on dealing with media outlets, reducing liability and promoting law practices, includes WHYY reporter Dave Davies, former KYW suburban bureau chief Jay Lloyd and Buzz Communications founder Harriet Lessy.
After the training, Russell will lead a beer tasting featuring food-pairing suggestions and information on Philly’s beer scene.
The first session will be held Nov. 10 at the offices of Flaster/Greenberg, 4 Penn Center, and has a registration fee of $225.
Attendees can get more information or sign up for the course online.
