Dana DiZillo compared the atmosphere to an Eagles’ tailgate party. Donna Ferry described it as “Vegas meets football.”
On the surface, the Lingerie Football League is exactly what you think it is: beautiful women playing tackle football. The Philadelphia Passion boasts an 18-player roster, comprised of bikini-clad hotties with amazing physiques. Yes, they take football very seriously. (Ferry once told an opponent, “I’m going to put you on your back like I had your mother last night.”) But, they also know what attracts most fans.
“I’m sure what attracts [most guys] is our uniforms and our bodies, because our girls are all in shape,” said DiZillo, 25, of Bensalem. “But, after they see us play, they say, ‘Wow! You guys know how to play football.’”
Ferry has been nicknamed “The Train” because of her affinity for “wrecking” people. If she can lead the Passion (1-1) to two more wins, the team is headed to the postseason.
“I’m taking bodies, that’s my job,” said Ferry, 23, of Upper Darby. “I love football. If I could sum up the way football makes me feel … ineffable.”
The Passion play the Tampa Breeze on Friday at 9 p.m. at the Sun Center in Trenton, N.J. Tickets start at $15 and are available at comcasttix.com.
