Allen Iverson spent the majority of last night trying to fit in with his new teammates.
He started at point guard and played the entire first quarter, taking the team’s first shot of the game on a wild drive to the basket.
When it was said and done, Iverson recorded 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and 38 minutes in a 93-83 loss to the Nuggets.
“I did the best I could,” Iverson said. “My legs and arms were weak. It’s going to take some time. The best part was hearing these fans’ voices again.”
Andre Iguodala clearly didn’t want to relinquish control of the team, having one of his best shooting games of the year, piling up 31 points on just 21 shots.
Regardless, Iverson did not solve the problems that have plagued the Sixers all year. They allowed the Nuggets to make 11 3-pointers. And as usual, the Sixers struggled to knock down outside jumpers, shooting just 40 percent for the game.
