Made in America Festival Guide: performances, road closures, safety protocols and more

Another summer comes to an end, and that means another Made in America Festival will kick off in the City of Brotherly Love.

This year marks the 10th go-around for the popular event, which will take place Labor Day weekend this Saturday, Sept. 4 and Sunday, Sept. 5. The two-day event is produced by Roc Nation and DPS on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and the festival will benefit the ACLU of Pennsylvania and the REFORM Alliance this year.

If you can’t make it to the festival in person, for the sixth year, global streaming and entertainment platform TIDAL will be exclusively live-streaming the Made In America Festival. All three festival stages — Rocky, Liberty, and TIDAL — will stream for free on TIDAL.com/MIA and YouTube.com/TIDAL

For those heading to Made in America in person, there will be ample opportunity to take part in everything this music festival has to offer while still adhering to health and safety guidelines. This includes the requirement of proof of a negative COVID-19 test result or printed proof of full COVID-19 vaccination presented at entry. The negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 48 hours of attending the Made In America Festival. In addition, as mandated by the City Of Philadelphia, all attendees on festival grounds will be required to wear masks. In order to expedite entry onto festival grounds, Made in America has partnered with CLEAR and their Health Pass technology.

This year’s festival is headlined by Lil Baby (Saturday) and Justin Bieber (Sunday), with additional performances from: Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Kehlani, Young Thug, Bobby Shmurda, Baby Keem, Lil Durk, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, Tinashe, Morray, Coi Leray, Latto, 42 Dugg, EST Gee, Bia, Lloyd Banks, Fivio Foreign, Fousheé, Kaash Paige, Cazzu, Mozzy, Pi’erre Bourne, Duke Deuce, Mariah The Scientist, Capella Grey, Maeta, Destin Conrad and 26ar.

According to a release, to accommodate venue construction and the two-day festival, gradual lane restrictions and road closures along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and in sections of the Fairmount and Logan Square neighborhoods began on Sunday, Aug. 29. The number and magnitude of street closings and parking restrictions will increase each day until the festival ends—specific roadway details can be found online.

Those looking for parking for the festival can check out the parking garages at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barnes Foundation, Franklin Institute and The Rodin Museum. The Made in America Festival is an all-ages event, however, to enter the festival beer garden areas and to purchase alcohol, individuals must be 21+ and have valid photo I.D.

The release also states that Made in America is a rain or shine event. Attendees should sign up to receive free weather and emergency alerts by texting READYPHILA to 888-777, and in the case of severe weather, should listen for announcements broadcast across the festival footprint.
