Caffeine with a side of curiosity is being served up at Madis Coffee Roasters.

The second location of this local brand is set to open this weekend on April 17 at The Curtis, and with it will come a menu of food, drinks, and a bit of education.

The venue is meant to double as a space where Philadelphians can gain some knowledge about the brewing process in itself while enjoying their own cup of joe. This Madis location will feature its own on-site roastery, where visitors can learn about the roasting process and bean sourcing firsthand.

Guests are also invited to ask questions about brewing, and the shop additionally provides an extensive retail area stocked with premium home-brewing equipment (the baristas on site are there to help guide you on your own coffee journey).

“We believe that every cup tells a story — one of craftsmanship, sustainability, and global connection,” says co-owner of Madis Coffee, Eleni Navrosidis in a statement. “We aim to bridge the gap between harvest to cup, fostering a deeper appreciation for the coffee journey and sustainable sourcing process within our community.”

What’s being served up on the menu? Madis will feature coffee beans sourced from different regions around the world and an assortment of sips spanning lattes, cappuccinos, matches, lemonades and tea. Specialty drinks, such as the Blueberry Bliss Latte, Biscolatte, Orange Blossom Latte, Espresso Milkshake, White Chocolate Frappe, and Affogato will also be served up on the opening menu.

Brunch-wise, Philadelphians can also sink their teeth into a pizzetti, roast beef on brioche, French toast, a Mediterranean baguette, a Harissa hot honey chicken bowl, beet salad and more.

Madis Coffee Roasters’ sustainable mission is reflected in every step of its sourcing and operational practices as well. According to a release, that includes ethically sourced beans from small-scale farms across Central and South America, Africa, and beyond that ensure fair compensation and sustainable farming methods.
