Authorities say a 26-year-old man died after being shot more than half dozen times Sunday evening in East Germantown.

Omar Freeman, who lived in the neighborhood, was gunned down at around 6 p.m. on the 5900 block of Norwood Street, police said.

Philadelphia Police Inspector D.F. Pace told reporters at the scene that it was a “brutal killing,” and investigators believe Freeman’s murder could be connected to a robbery and beating that occurred shortly before the shooting at a nearby corner store, according to multiple media outlets.

The killing capped a violent weekend in the city, during which seven people were fatally shot.

Then, just before 2 p.m. Monday, two men were hit when gunfire erupted on the 2500 block of W. Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia, according to authorities.

Investigators said a 31-year-old man with two gunshot wounds to the head was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and he succumbed to his injuries at around 3 p.m.

The other victim, a 29-year-old man, was shot in the left calf and is expected to survive.

Police officials on Monday identified the three young men killed in a shooting Saturday night near the corner of 69th and Cedar Park avenues in West Oak Lane.

Lamir “Naseem” Timms, 18, who lived in the neighborhood, and Ahmed Graham, 20, of East Mount Airy, were found with gunshot wounds in a SUV. Officers who responded to the scene found 18-year-old Konrae Rice, of East Falls, in a nearby alley.

Authorities initially said two of the victims were in their 20s and the third was in his 30s. No arrests have been made.

Elsewhere, six other people were wounded in shootings Sunday night and early in the day on Monday.

A 30-year-old man was shot once in the left leg at around 1:30 p.m. Monday on the 2000 block of W. Mayfield Street in North Philadelphia, police said. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

About 10 minutes earlier, officers were called to the 2200 block of W. Berks Street, also in North Philadelphia, where a 22-year-old man was shot in both thighs.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is expected to physically recover.

Early Monday, at around 6:15 a.m., a 40-year-old man was shot in the back and left hand on the 5600 block of N. Sydenham Street in the Ogontz neighborhood. He was listed in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center following the shooting.

Police said a 35-year-old man was grazed by a bullet — sustaining a wound to his mouth — just before 1:30 a.m. Monday on the 4200 block of N. 8th Street in Hunting Park. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

In Logan, someone shot a 29-year-old man in the thigh at around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on the 4900 block of N. Broad Street, authorities said. Officers took him to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

A 44-year-old man was grazed in the back at around 8:45 p.m. Sunday on the 900 block of W. Susquehanna Avenue in North Philadelphia. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Authorities did not report any arrests in the immediate aftermath of the shootings.
