Police this morning are searching for a man they say crashed and overturned an SUV and left a woman trapped in the wreckage, ABC Philly reported.
The incident reportedly took place in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, around 3:45 a.m. on the 2600 block of Potter Street.
According to investigators, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slid on snow. The SUV then struck a pole and overturned onto its side,NBC Philly reported. Police say a person at the scene broke the rear window and cut the driver’s seat belt, and that’s when the driver ran away.
Rescuers pulled an unidentified 30-year-old female passenger from the wreckage. She was taken to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing with police working on identifying the driver.
