Authorities have arrested a suspect in last week’s fatal shooting and robbery inside a Frankford convenience store, and investigators have identified a second man wanted in connection with the killing, police said Wednesday.

Early on the morning of Thursday, July 11, at around 12:15 a.m, Kenneth Kennedy-McLeod, 37, was shot multiple times inside the shop he reportedly ran on the 1500 block of Pratt Street, near SEPTA’s Frankford Transportation Center, according to the PPD.

Detectives, who believe the motive for the killing was robbery, recovered evidence indicating five shots were fired.

Kharee Simmons, 37, was taken into custody Tuesday in West Philadelphia, police said, and he is expected to face charges that include murder, criminal conspiracy, robbery and theft. Simmons’s attorney could not be identified through court records Wednesday.
