Man arrested for death and torture of puppy found in Willow Grove: Police

A man has been arrested by Montgomery County police for the death of a puppy that was found abandoned in a container wrapped in plastic earlier this month, police said.
The man has been identified by police as 20-year-old Charles McCafferty IV of Lansdale and faces animal cruelty charges. He was the owner of the deceased Staffordshire Terrier.
Police said they found the 6-month to 1-year-old dog in an area near Welsh Road near Blair Mill Road in Willow Grove on March 9.
“She was discovered inside a metal cage which was had been wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape,” police wrote in a Facebook post. “Pieces of drywall were used as the bedding for the crate.”
According to6ABC, a $5,000 reward was offered to whoever provided information leading to an arrest, but that there is no word whether the money has been awarded to anyone.
