Police have a man in custody who allegedly hit an officer over the head with a chair in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia last night.
Authorities responded to the 1200 block of South Bonsall Street around 10 p.m. for reports of a domestic incident. During a struggle, Kenneth Bryant, 36, of East Orange, N.J., allegedly swung a bar-style chair and hit one of the officers on the left side of his head and face.
The officer was treated at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for a head injury. Bryant is charged with attempted murder and assault of a law enforcement officer.
