A 16-year-old boy was found fatally shot Sunday night on the grounds of Martin Luther King High School, authorities said.
The victim, West Oak Lane resident William Honesty, was spotted by a passerby, and police responded just before 11:45 p.m. to the area outside the public school, located on the 5900 block of Stenton Avenue in East Germantown, according to officials.
He had been shot three times in the chest, and medics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said. No arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of the killing, and the PPD said a motive remains unclear.

Classes for Martin Luther King students were not interrupted Monday morning, School District of Philadelphia spokesperson Monique Braxton told Metro. Honesty was not an MLK student; he attended a local charter school, according to district officials.
Earlier, just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, a 19-year-old man showed up at Einstein Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his right thigh, authorities said. Investigators believe he was shot on the 1300 block of E. Price Street – around the corner from the high school.
The victim was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries, and no arrests have been made, according to the PPD.
A police spokesperson said the investigation remains in its early stages and that detectives have not determined whether the two shootings are connected.
