Atlantic City police said a Staten Island man drunkenly drove down the city’s boardwalk yesterday afternoon, injuring a passenger who bailed from the vehicle and narrowly missing several officers, the Associated Press reported today.

Twenty-eight year old John Thompson is facing DUI and assault charges after he allegedly took a joyride down the boardwalk around 12:30 p.m., leading police on a pursuit. Thompson hit several parked cars and nearly struck two cop cruisers, according to the report.
