Man faces murder charge for West Philadelphia triple stabbing

Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for the triple stabbing Tuesday afternoon that left one dead and two others injured.

Ronald Stanley is facing charges, which include one count of murder, and two counts of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and other related offenses.

According to authorities, on March 8 at about 2:25 p.m. police responded to a call of a stabbing at a Cricket Phone store located at 5600 Baltimore Avenue.

Upon arriving, the officers found 30-year-old Nathan Ackison suffering from a stab wound to his chest, police said. Ackison was taken to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police also found a 31-year-old man and a 50-year-old man at the scene with cuts to their hands and arms. They were both taken to Mercy Hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Witnesses directed police to the area near 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue, according to authorities, where officers found Stanley.

According to ABC Action News, police said that the victims were not known to Stanley.

“It just appears as though he walked into the business and saw a person and just figured he’ll stab him” Philadelphia Police Lt. John Walker told ABC.

Police also added that Stanley has 31 prior arrests and it would appear he was on some type of drug during the incident, ABC reported.
