Man found shot to death in car in West Oak Lane

A man was shot and killed in a car in West Oak Lane early this morning.

The fatal shooting is the second in consecutive mornings investigated by Philadelphia police in which the victim was killed while seated in a car.

This time, the victim was found in a car parked on the 6900 block of North 15th Street, in West Oak Lane, NBC10 reports. Police found the man’s body about 1 a.m. after responding to reports of gunfire in the area about 12:30 a.m.

The victim, seated in the backseat of a older Mercury sedan, was shot in his head and chest, according to the report.

Police are also investigating the shooting death of a man found in a car parked on the 6600 block of Ross Street, in East Mount Airy, Tuesday morning.
