Man found unconscious in house full of cats, trash: SPCA

A man thought to be in his 70s ishospitalizedtonight after Philadelphia Fire Department personnel found himunconsciousin a house filled with debris and more than a dozen cats, officials with the Pennsylvania SPCA said.

The SPCA responded to the home, on the 9100 block of Bickley Road in the Northeast, and removed several dozen cats. Officials estimated 10 to 15 cats were living in the home. There may have been dead cats, too.

The home had no air conditioning, SPCA spokeswoman Wendy Marano said, and was filled with trash, debris and animal waste.

The man’s condition is unknown at this time.
