Man intentionally run over, killed in Northeast Philly, police say

A man died early Sunday morning after being intentionally run over in front of a bar in the Far Northeast, police said.

The crash occurred at around 2 a.m. Sunday on the 2700 block of Comly Road, near Roosevelt Boulevard, according to authorities. Police said the victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries about an hour later.

Investigators describe the driver as a white man who was behind the wheel of a silver Ford Edge. The SUV was last seen going northbound on the Boulevard.

Early Saturday, at around 12:30 a.m., someone shot a 22-year-old man multiple times in the chest inside a house on the 100 block of W. Susquehanna Avenue in the Norris Square neighborhood, according to police.

The victim died at the hospital a short time later. Authorities recovered a gun at the scene but did not immediately apprehend a suspect.

In Tacony, a 45-year-old man was struck in the left arm after shots were fired at around 3 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot behind the 6400 block of Torresdale Avenue, investigators said. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

On Saturday night, a man, described by police as in his 40s or 50s, was stabbed just before midnight inside a property on the 1100 block of Spruce Street in Center City.

Authorities said he was transported to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition with wounds to his neck, chest and back.

Earlier, at around 6 p.m., a woman stabbed a 45-year-old woman during an argument inside a house on the 2500 block of N. Alder Street in North Philadelphia, police said. The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

A man in his mid-30s was in critical condition after being shot three times in the chest early Saturday. Authorities said he showed up to Episcopal Hospital and was transferred to Temple at around 12:30 a.m.

Police said that detectives do not know where the shooting occurred.
