Man killed during rap video filming in Olney

Philadelphia police are still investigating a rap video shoot that turned deadly Thursday in the city’s Olney section.

The amateur rap video was being filmed near 5th Street and Tabor Road around 7 p.m. when shots were fired, police said. The shooting led to chaos as nearly 100 people tried to flee the scene. During the melee, a car ran over a man who was lying on the ground, reports said.

While initial reports indicate the man also had been shot, police would not confirm that Friday and said the investigation was ongoing. The victim was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was declared dead.

According to reports, police stopped the vehicle, but determined the driver ran over the man accidentally.

The name of the 33-year-old victim has not been released. The case has not been ruled a homicide, pending an autopsy.
