Police have identified a man killed outside a North Philadelphia mosque on Tuesday.
Just before 5 p.m., Raheem Jefferson, 43, was shot multiple times outside of the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society in the Olde Kensington neighborhood of North Philadelphia, according to authorities.
No weapons have been recovered at this time, and no one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, according to police.
Since the beginning of 2024, 155 people have been murdered in Philadelphia, a decrease of 37% compared to the same point last year, according to police statistics.
