A man is facing criminal charges for hitting one dog with a hammer and stabbing her while not providing care for twoother dogs, the PSPCA announced.
Brandon Cramer,a resident of Saylorsburg, Pa., is now charged with four counts of animal cruelty.
The PSPCAfound Michaella, a mastiff type dog, suffering from head and stab wounds after they visited Cramer’s home on a tip from a concerned citizen.
“Michaella is in guarded condition, and is expected to have a long recovery should she survive,” the PSPCA said in a press release.
The PSPCA said thattwo additional adult mastiff-types and two puppies were brought to the PSPCA’s Philly headquarters, where one, Mordecai, has already been adopted to new owners.
“The Pennsylvania SPCA cannot stand for acts of outright cruelty toward animals as evidenced by the acts of the individual involved here,” PSPCA CEO Jerry Buckley said in a statement.
