Man stabbed trying to board a SEPTA bus in Crescentville

A man was pulled off a SEPTA bus before being hit with a hammer and stabbed in the neck early Monday in North Philly’s Crescentville section.

Police questioned a woman in connection to the assault, which happened at approximately 2:15 a.m. at Whitaker Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. 

Inquirer.com reported that the man was boarding an eastbound R bus when he was pulled off by a woman and and another person, believed to be a juvenile male armed with a hammer. 

The woman, who was taken into custody but was not identified, allegedly stabbed the victim in neck and back, while the male hit him with the hammer. 

Bus passengers were transfered to another bus, according to ABC

The motive of the attack was not immediately clear.
