Man wounded in SEPTA Broad Street Line shooting

A man was wounded after a shooting took place on the northbound platform for SEPTA’s Broad Street Line in Center City, police said.

Just before 12 p.m., Philadelphia police responded to a call of a shooting on the platform, where they discovered the victim, a 68-year-old male who suffered a single gunshot wound to the stomach.

The victim was transported by police to Jefferson Center City Hospital, where he is currently are listed in critical condition, according to authorities.

The scene was secured and a firearm was recovered. One individual has been taken into custody in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
