Every summer, Manayunk transforms into an open-air creative mecca — and this year is no different.

The Manayunk Arts Festival will soon return for its 36th annual celebration. This year, the fun takes place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, and features 300 different local and nationally known artists and crafters as over 100,000 collectors, buyers, and designers visit Main Street for this grand event.

Organized and operated by the Manayunk Development Corporation, the Manayunk Arts Festival is free to attend and open to the public. With more than 300 artists in attendance, the festival will showcase a wide variety of mediums, including fiber, glass, ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, painting and drawing, photography, and wood and sculpture.

There will also be an Emerging Artist Program, which will feature 30 local and up-and-coming artists. This stage will showcase young artists, giving them a platform to show and sell their work. Each artist is eligible to participate as an emerging artist for up to three years. After that, they are extended an outright invitation to participate in the show.

Over the years of the Manayunk Arts Festival, many of their Emerging Artists are now regular participants in the show. This year, 30 Emerging Artists will be featured on Grape Street, just off Main Street.

There will also be plenty of food and drink vendors, merchant specials, live art demonstrations, and much more.

Visitors can also enjoy food and beverage offerings from Manayunk’s restaurants, such as Bar Jawn, Luck’s Last Chance, Hen Solo, and more, while stopping off to peruse the wares of the neighborhood’s unique boutiques and stores.
