Man’s vintage plane seized after he used it to traffick crystal meth

A Norristown judge ordered that a man’s vintage private plane be seized today after he was convicted of using it to transport crystal meth and sell the drug to an undercover detective, WFMZ-TV reports.

James Handzus reportedly flew “My Lady,” his 1959 Piper fixed-wing plane, from his hometown of Rifle, Colo. to Las Vegas, Nev., where he picked up the meth and brought it to Montgomery County’s Wings Field in April of last year. There, he was arrested for selling a pound of the stuff to an agent.

Head of the Montgomery County District Attorney’s forfeiture unit James Staerk told the judge, “It is time for Mr. Handzus to kiss ‘his lady’ goodbye,” according to the report.
